Gisou is founded by and driven by women. Gisou's heritage stems from female influence which is passed on to the next generation. Take for example the Gisou bee colonies, where the female worker bees carry all the work and produce our hero ingredients, honey and propolis. We also take our inspiration from our community, and female beekeepers around the world, who are committed to learn, spread awareness and share their inspiring stories. In honour of Women’s History Month, we spoke to four female beekeepers around the world, from the Netherlands to Utah. How 4 Female Beekeepers Got Their Start Cecilia Pace Location: Pratola Peligna, Abruzzo, Italy IG: @cecile_92 Beekeeping since: 2011 Inspiration to start beekeeping: “I come from a second generation beekeeping family. My dad started beekeeping more than 40 years ago and passed on his knowledge to my brothers and I. Today, we run a family business together, Apicoltura Colle Salera, producing 19 different kinds of organic honey.  We have a nomadic approach to beekeeping: we move to different regions in Italy, from Puglia to Emilia Romagna. This way, we make the most of the blossoming season so that our bees have access to the best pollen and nectar.” McKay Opeifa Location: Salt Lake City, Utah IG: @mckayjo Beekeeping since: 2012 Inspiration to start beekeeping: “Since I was a little girl, I have always loved insects. So naturally, I chose to study Entomology. The university I was studying at had the 10th largest bee collection in the world and I got hooked. I’m currently studying for my Master Beekeeper from Cornell University. I’m a honey collector, a teacher and a self-proclaimed honey sommelier!” Nina Moerdijk Location: Scheveningen, The Netherlands IG: @oceansidebeekeeping Beekeeping since: 2019 Inspiration to start beekeeping: “Three years ago, I decided I wanted to do something that wasn’t just for me. I immediately thought about doing something with nature, since my dad - a fossil and shell collector - taught me a lot about nature from a young age. I followed a one-year beekeeping course and now I take care of four of my own bee colonies!” Hannah Mather Location: Central Florida, USA IG: @hannahshoneycomb  Beekeeper since: 2018 Inspiration to start beekeeping: “I’ve always been fascinated by nature and insects. In college, I studied insect-borne diseases and fell in love with the complexities of entomology. After spending some time working in a lab, I knew I needed to be more hands-on with the creatures I loved, so I turned to beekeeping instead!” What’s your favourite thing about beekeeping?  McKay: The energy! I can feel the bees’ energy and I know they can feel mine. I love to have the bees circle all around me. It’s a great reminder to be present, to bring a calm energy to them.  I also love that bees teach us new things every day. Science is in awe of the honey bee, and the medical world is discovering a lot of unexplored avenues with bee products. It’s exciting and makes me feel like I’m a part of something magical. Cecilia: I love going to our apiary: the birds singing, the fresh and clean air, the sun kissing my face, listening to bees singing while laying on the ground. It’s always so moving. Nina: The whole bee ecosystem is so perfect. It’s really beautiful to see how bees reflect our environment. For example, when I open the hive I can smell which flowers they’ve collected nectar from. Bees are also so inventive! They never cease to surprise me.  Hannah: Being able to witness the complexities of the hive firsthand, while being forced to be in the moment and temporarily forget all the other stressors of life and things on the to-do list. Favourite fun fact about bees? Nina: For one single jar of honey, bees fly the distance around the world. They put so much work into making the honey. Bees actually make way more honey than they can use - they make as much as they can store. Hannah: That all the worker bees in a colony are female, it’s amazing what a large group of girls can create! McKay: Recently I have rediscovered the collaborative energy of the bees and the signals they send to each other. Together they thrive — not one of them would be able to survive alone, not even the Queen. There are a lot of life lessons to learn there. Cecilia: We can distinguish from bees how much they sing, when they are happy and when they cry, because we have a symbiotic relationship with them. Challenges as a female beekeeper? Cecilia: Beekeeping has always been considered as a man’s job, despite the bees’ system being matriarchal! Unfortunately, it can be hard for women to be accepted this wonderful world. For many people it is unthinkable that women could do this job.  McKay: I really haven't faced any challenges as a female. I did attempt to join the beekeeping club here in the city and found very quickly there was no one like me there, just a good handful of middle aged men! Hannah: Beekeeping can be quite labor intensive, and there is often an incorrect assumption that we all have a man behind the scenes doing the heavy lifting. We must work harder to be taken seriously in the “bee world”, but thankfully, that seems to be changing as more of us share our stories! A typical day as a beekeeper Nina: It really depends on the season. In early spring, I make sure the queens are still alive and that they have enough food until spring really hits. When the season starts, I do a weekly check-up to make sure they don’t swarm, so I can split the colony on time. They need enough room to store pollen and honey - if the hive is too full, the queen leaves. Cecilia: We usually go to our apiaries to check the bee colonies, to examine the queen and to see if they have enough food. During midsummer, hungry bears tend to come visit us, so we monitor our apiaries from a distance with a specific technology and intervene if something happens. Hannah: No day as a beekeeper is “typical”, and that’s what I love the most! Depending on the time of year, a day of beekeeping can consist of inspecting the health of colonies, relocating swarms for the local community, harvesting honey, or editing photos and writing about bees for educational purposes.  McKay: As a beekeeper, there is no typical day. One day I am catching swarms or hosting a honey tasting class and the next day I’m working with kids. That is the beauty of it; I have created a life around my passions and I wake up every day with a new thing to try and learn. I am so wonderfully fulfilled with what I do as a beekeeper! The beauty & health benefits of honey & propolis McKay: We’ve only scratched the surface of the benefits of honey and propolis. Honey, beeswax, bee venom and propolis are unlike anything else you will find in this world. They dance together in such a beautiful way to keep the hive functioning, guarding it against predators and against disease.  We are constantly finding new ways everything from the hive can be implemented into the medical world as well as beauty! Hannah: Both honey and propolis have amazing anti-microbial properties that can gently help skin conditions without any harsh side effects.  Cecilia: Honey and propolis have superlative beneficial properties! Propolis is by definition a natural antibiotic: it disinfects and anaesthetises. Honey is full of antioxidants and never goes bad. It also has many benefits for the respiratory tract.  Nina: I actually make my own lip balm with honey and beeswax. It’s like a super hydrating overnight treatment. I also use it to fixate my eyebrows. I use propolis drops for when I feel like I’m getting a cold, so more for medicinal use. Advice for how to start beekeeping? Hannah: Start with research! Read all you can, reach out to local beekeepers or even beekeepers on social media. Many areas have local beekeepers associations that are a wealth of knowledge and can help you get hands-on experience to build your confidence before bringing your own hive home.  Nina: Just try to find local beekeepers whom you can learn from. Beekeepers are so passionate about what they do so they’re always happy to talk. Just ask around! Secondly, you can look for a local beekeeping club and do a course. If the courses are full you can always volunteer, there’s always help needed in the garden.  Lastly, you really need to be committed. It’s all-year around. For example, during spring you can’t really travel, so you need to make some sacrifices. McKay: Learn to love bees. If you love your bees, you will naturally want to educate yourself on how to help them, you will do what is best to help them, and ultimately be successful. So love them, slow down and listen to them. Cecilia: The advice I feel like giving is the following: read a lot and especially find a beekeeper in your area and offer your help. Direct experience on the field really makes the difference! How do you educate people around you on the importance of bees & their welfare?  Hannah: The first step in my opinion is to get people to notice bees and realise that we are not separate from nature. Nature is all around us and relies on us for survival. Try to notice things around you, be curious and ask questions - this will lead to wanting to protect nature.  McKay: With the world being so uncertain at times, it can be hard for kids to stay grounded, be confident and form their own ideas. This is what beekeeping offers. The kids that come to my hives have a fire and passion in their eyes. They’re more courageous than some adults I know! As for the adults, I try to teach them about bees and honey during my tasting sessions. This beautiful experience forces them to slow down and pay attention. I’ve discovered that most people know close to nothing about bees. If only they knew what they were missing, they would do a better job at trying to help the bees.  Cecilia: I welcome groups of people, both adults and children, to our apiary so that they can learn more about the bees’ ecosystem. People are often scared of bees, and I believe that direct experiences with bees are the best way to sensitise them and make them understand that nature should be treated with respect. Nina: Bees are such magical insects, there’s so much to tell. When the bee season starts, I take my followers along through my Instagram Stories with everything I encounter. Everyone is super engaged! I let my followers pick the name for my queens, and they’ve come up with some really good ones: Regina George, Beeopatra, Bee Gees and of course Beyonce! What are some small things anyone can do to help the bees thrive?  McKay: There is a lot you can do, but there’s one thing that is good for the bees, but also good for your soul.... plant flowers! It’s such a joy to get dirt under your fingernails and make the world a little more beautiful. Look up the native flowers in your area, they will be easier to take care of, and not only the bees, but all the surrounding insects and vegetation will thrive. The second thing: stop spraying your garden with pesticides, pull your weeds and find alternatives for the pesticides you use. They are more harmful than you think and it can take years to get them out of the plants’ system. With a little more patience you will learn a lot and the pollinators will love you.   Nina: If you can, buy organic food which has not been sprayed with pesticides. People don’t realise that pesticides are bad for the bees. If a bee comes in contact with certain pesticides, and brings it back to the hive, the whole colony dies. 70% of the food we eat is dependent on pollination from insects. Without pollinators, we wouldn’t even have fruits and vegetables!  Hannah: The most important thing that we can all do to help bees thrive is planting diverse, native, nectar-rich flowers that provide sustenance and habitat for them. Habitat loss is the biggest threat facing our bees.  Cecilia: Always help and respect the bees. When you see a stunned bee, give her some honey or water as a refreshment. They won’t attack you and they’ll be super happy! Bees only sting if they feel attacked. Plant as many flowers as you can, try to pollute less and make respecting nature a lifestyle! At Gisou, one of the things we always take into consideration when developing new products is that they need to be suitable for all hair types, so that they can tackle various hair concerns. What makes our Gisou community so special is that everyone is so diverse, and that’s why we want our products to address the different needs of each individual.  We asked two Community members to test the new Honey Infused Scalp Treatment for 30 days and share with us their experience with the Scalp Treatment, how it helped them with their scalp issues and how they use it in their haircare routines.  One serum to treat all scalp issues The Honey Infused Scalp Treatment Serum is a lightweight, fast-absorbing, intensive leave-on scalp serum that nourishes, balances and protects the scalp resulting in healthier-looking and shinier hair. Its 99% natural formulation is made to tackle various scalp concerns, such as dryness, flakiness, oiliness, itchiness and greasiness.  Our community puts Honey Infused Scalp Treatment to the test! We asked our Gisou Community Members Leah and Nina to test the Honey Infused Scalp Treatment for 30 days and share their honest reviews and experiences with us.  Leah “Growing up I have always had healthy hair, thanks to my mom (yay for genetics!). However, I do use heat tools and chemicals on my hair. When I first heard of “scalp treatment”, a lightbulb went off in my head. It never occurred to me that healthy hair starts with your scalp!” I would describe my hair as: very silky, wavy and thick. It doesn’t sound like my hair needs a scalp treatment, right? The one problem is that my hair gets oily after one day, so I wash it every day, even though I know that it strips my hair of its natural oils.  Oily hair starts at the scalp, so I wanted to try the new Gisou Honey Infused Scalp Treatment to target this issue.”  Nina “I have naturally dry skin - on my face and body, including my scalp. My scalp is dry and sometimes itchy.  I put a lot of effort into my skincare routine and I'm really invested in my hair care routine as well. We all know that a healthy scalp is the root of healthy hair. A healthy scalp ensures that your hair can grow long, thick and be healthy.” Part 1. Before Honey Infused Scalp Treatment Even if you’ve never tried a scalp treatment serum before, it’s an easy step to add into your current haircare routine. A small step with big results! We’ve mentioned the benefits of using a Scalp Treatment Serum before, and our Community Members put it to the test:  Leah “My hair-care routine before trying this Scalp Serum consisted of using the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Mask once a week in the shower and finishing off with Honey Infused Hair Oil on my ends.  Since I started using the Honey Infused Scalp Treatment, my routine looks like this: After I dry my hair I use the Hair Oil on the ends of my hair. I then part my hair to the right, squeeze some of the Honey Infused Scalp Treatment on my scalp, then part my hair on the left side and repeat. Lastly, I massage the product in, put my hair into a bun, then I go to bed!  My biggest tip is to not put it on if you’re about to go out somewhere because it will look like your roots are oily, if you have oily hair like me. Another tip is to use a comb after applying the serum so that it evenly spreads out along your roots before you massage the product into your scalp.” Nina “I usually wash my hair once or twice a week with the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Wash, then I apply the Honey Infused Hair Mask and leave it on for 10 minutes to lock in moisture. Afterwards, I finish with the Honey Infused Hair Conditioner.  Once a week, I do an intensive treatment to repair dry hair using the Gisou Hair Mask mixed with the Honey Infused Hair Oil and I leave it overnight and wash my hair in the morning.  I started using the Honey Infused Scalp Treatment twice a week by applying it at night before going to bed. I first brush my hair and then I apply the Scalp Treatment Serum section by section and massage it onto my scalp with my fingers for 5 minutes. I don’t need to wash my hair the following morning because the Scalp Serum gets fully absorbed overnight.” Part 2. After Honey Infused Scalp Treatment (30 days later!) When you first start using the Honey Infused Scalp Treatment, we recommend using it twice a week for 30 days. After this, you can decide to use it once or twice a week. This will help balance and reset the scalp, and create and sustain equilibrium in your scalp microbiome. It’s crucial to keep your scalp microbiome healthy and in balance in order to prevent scalp irritation and to grow strong, healthy, shiny hair. Leah and Nina tested the Honey Infused Scalp Treatment twice a week for 30 days. Leah “The first two weeks of this routine, I noticed that my scalp felt more hydrated and soft, which is unusual for me as I have never done any scalp treatment before.  Then after using the Scalp Treatment Serum for about one month I decided to not wash my hair for a day - I would normally wash it every day - and wanted to see how it would go. I woke up the next day and noticed my hair was barely if not oily at all! Instead, my scalp still felt fresh and clean.  And in terms of my hair, I began to receive many compliments about how bouncy it was. Before using the Scalp Serum, I never received such compliments. Different Scalp Conditions This can be a sensitive topic (no pun intended!). Scalp issues are experienced by most people in some shape or form with varying degrees of severity. Try to wash your hair between 1 and 3 times per week. Clean hair and scalp are obviously important, just don’t overdo it! Washing less often will prevent your hair from being stripped of its natural oils and in turn over-producing these oils. That being said, if you have a large amount of product build-up, it is necessary to remove this build-up as it could clog your pores and cause irritation. By Mana, Gisou Beauty Advisor I spent years thinking I was doing all the right things - I bought the “expensive” drug store shampoo (because expensive means it’s good, right?), I didn’t overwash my hair, I avoided heat styling, never colour-treated my hair, you name it.  Despite all this, every week without fail, my scalp would feel itchy, dry and flaky a couple of days after washing, and my hair just looked…dull. I figured this must just be my hair type, and there wasn’t much that could be done about it. Turns out I couldn’t have been more wrong!  Have you ever had that thing happen, where you learn a new word and then suddenly you hear it everywhere. Well, that was me and sulphates. When I joined Gisou and began my ingredient and product training, the phrase “sulphate-free” came up like a mantra.  Of course, I’d heard about sulphate-free products, but it had never really occurred to me that this could be the root of many of my hair and scalp issues. I started inspecting the long, confusing list of ingredients on the back of my haircare products, and boom, there they were loud and clear. What are sulphates? Essentially, sulphates are detergents, or cleaning agents used to break down dirt and oils. They are also surfactants, used to create that thick, foamy effect most of us love in our shampoos and body washes. The most common sulphates found in store-bought shampoos include sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium laureth sulphate, and ammonium laureth sulphate. Are sulphates bad for hair? Technically, no. Sulphates are not necessarily harmful, however, they can be too good at their job, stripping the hair, scalp and skin of natural oils, and leaving it feeling dry and brittle. Because of this, certain people can benefit from avoiding sulphates in their self-care products.  You will benefit from using sulphate-free hair care products if… You have sensitive skin or a sensitive scalp If you have eczema or psoriasis, sulphates can make your skin dry, itchy and red. So we would 10/10 recommend a sulphate-free shampoo for you.  You have dry skin or hair This goes without saying - if you already struggle with dryness, why use something that’s going to dry you out even more? I definitely fall into this category. As someone with dry skin and hair, sulphates were definitely drying my scalp out even more, resulting in that uncomfortable itchiness days after washing.  Your hair is fine  Our guys and gals with finer hair types will know that you have to be extra gentle with your hair to avoid breakage. Shampoos with sulphates can be far too harsh for more fragile hair types, leaving them more prone to dryness and damage.  Your hair is frizzy Those who struggle with frizz will know, we will do anything to win this ongoing battle with the elements. You’re probably wishing someone told you this sooner, but sulphates lift the hair’s cuticle, making your hair more likely to frizz. If frizz is one of your main struggles, cut the sulphates!  Your hair has been dyed or chemically-treated Your hair needs a little extra love after putting it through these processes, and a good sulphate-free shampoo is the best basis for a haircare routine that will nourish the hair and protect your colour. Not to mention the fact that sulphate-free shampoo can also keep brassiness at bay.  When are sulphates ok? We don’t want to make sulphates out to be all bad. Sometimes they can be beneficial. For example, if you have heavy product build-up or if you have a very oily hair type, a shampoo with sulphates might be your thing. Those who love a super foamy shampoo are also drawn to products containing sulphates, as you won’t get the same sudsy action from sulphate-free products.  Our Honey Infused Hair Wash Here at Gisou, we prioritise making our formulations as natural as possible and having a sulphate- and paraben-free formulation was a part of this. As I started using the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Wash, I had to go through a transition period after years of using products with sulphates, but in the end, it was totally worth it!  Switching to sulphate-free shampoo Changing from a shampoo with sulphates can be a tough transition — your hair may appear oilier at first and not feel as clean. After years of using products with sulphates, your hair may have started to overproduce oil to compensate for being stripped clean.  Your hair will take time to adjust to the new formulation as it rebalances its oil production. Don’t worry - this will settle down. The key is patience, it can take up to 6 weeks for the hair to totally adjust. How to use sulphate-free shampoo: Make sure your hair is soaked before applying the shampoo: this is important as it will help you easily distribute the product throughout your hair. Less is more: apply 2 to 3 pumps of the Honey Infused Hair Wash into the palms of your hands, mixing with a small amount of water. Rub the palms together to create a gentle lather. Keep in mind that this product won’t create huge clouds of foam — this doesn’t mean you need more!  Focus on your scalp: once you’ve lathered the product, focus it on your scalp. Take this time to really massage the product with your fingertips and let it do its work. Rinse and repeat: if you have oilier hair, you might want to do a rinse and repeat to really lift the oil and product out of your hair.  Rinse, rinse, rinse: this is super important, as leaving any of the product on the hair may leave it feeling heavy and weighed down. Condition: once you’ve rinsed, seal the cuticle and lock in moisture with the Honey Infused Conditioner, the perfect partner to the Honey Infused Hair Wash. What you may not know is, there are many different ways to curl your hair! Tight spirals, big beachy waves, voluminous red-carpet curls… there are lots of curling methods to try and each one yields a different curl and texture. So, if you’re feeling like you’re in a hairstyle rut, try one of these fun new ways to curl hair. Something as simple as switching up your hairstyle can boost your entire mood! What to Know Before You Curl Your Hair Before we dive into the different ways to curl your hair, there are a few things you should know.  First, we want to stress how important it is to prepare and protect the hair anytime you’re using heat. Before you curl your hair, apply our Propolis Infused Polishing Primer to add shine and flexible hold. Then apply our Propolis Infused Heat Protectant Spray to prevent damage. Keep in mind that large barrels and large sections produce looser curls, while small barrels and small sections produce tighter ones. If you prefer big bouncy curls opt for Gisou’s 1-Inch Curling Tool and take wider, thicker sections wrapped loosely around the barrel. Whether you’re using a curling iron or straightener to curl your hair, choosing the best temperature for your hair type is also important. For fine, damaged, chemically processed, or dry hair, always use the lowest effective setting. Thick hair will need a higher temperature setting to produce a long-lasting curl. Allow each section to heat through completely before releasing your curling iron. Not allowing the section to heat all the way through is the leading cause of curls that fall out too quickly.  Let the curl sit in the palm of your hand for a few seconds before letting it go completely. Then, make sure every curl is completely cool before styling. Run a few drops of Gisou’s Honey Infused Hair Oil through your hair after curling to lock in moisture, add shine, and eliminate frizz. Always style freshly curled hair with your fingers or a wide tooth comb. Avoid using a brush on curled hair because it might pull out the curl. This will allow you to master the curling techniques without burning yourself or applying unnecessary heat to your hair. 8 Different Ways to Curl Your Hair Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s dive into eight different ways to curl hair, with and without heat. Ways to Curl Your Hair with a Curling Iron Here are three different ways to curl your hair with a curling iron. Each technique will lead to different types of curls depending on the size of the barrel, the size of the sections, and the method you use to wrap your hair around the wand. Wide, Voluminous Curls with a Curling Iron If you want a wide curl with lots of volume, try the flat wrapping technique. You can curl the hair away from your face,  toward it or alternate, depending on your preference. Simply take a vertical section of hair, choose the direction you want to curl, and focus on keeping the hair flat as you wrap it around the iron. Wrap until you get to the ends and hold for about 15 seconds. Release the hair gently and allow the curls to cool before styling them gently with your fingers. The wider and thicker your sections are, the looser your curls will be. We recommend starting with sections that are about 1 ½” to 2” thick and experimenting until you find just the right size curl for you. Be careful not to twist the hair as you wrap, or you won’t get the same results! Loose Waves with a Curling Iron If you love the look of loose waves, try this technique with a 1-to-2-inch curling iron. To get the look, separate a 1 ½” section of hair and flat wrap without twisting until you’re about halfway down the length of your hair.  Allow the section to heat completely, then release it and flat wrap the rest of the section in the opposite direction. Leave the ends out for a more natural look. Allow the hair to cool completely before finger combing to separate the curls. Set the look with our flexible-hold, texturising spray for definition and hold.  Spiral Curls with a Curling Iron If you like a tight, spiral curl with texture, this technique is for you. For this look, you’ll wrap ½” sections around your 1” curling iron. Twist the entire section from root to end, ensuring that you wrap the entire section in the same direction. You can curl all the hair in the same direction, either toward or away from your face, depending on your preference. Or you alternate directions for a multi-directional, more natural-looking curl.  For longer-lasting curls, let each section heat all the way through before releasing it into your palm. Let it sit in your palm for a few seconds before letting it go completely.  Allow your hair to cool completely and then shake out your curls with your fingers to separate them and add volume. Ways to Curl Your Hair with a Straightener There are several different ways to curl hair with a flat iron, too. Here are two techniques to try. Ribbon Curls with a Flat Iron Ribbon curls are tight curls that have a lot of bounce. One of the best things about this technique is that the curls can last for days, gradually loosening into a beachy wave as time goes by. Start with a medium-sized section of hair about ½” thick and 1” wide. Hold the section in one hand with the flat iron in a vertical position in your other hand. Your palm should be facing your head. Close your straighter at the roots of your hair and twist so that your palm is now facing away from your head. Slide your straighter down the hair slowly, all the way down to the end, and release. Allow the hair to cool and then separate the curls with your fingers. Run 2-3 few drops of our Honey Infused Hair Oil through the hair to tame frizz and add shine, spritz with our Propolis Infused Texturizing Wave Spray, and you’re done. S Waves with a Flat Iron This technique creates loose “S” waves, similar to push or finger waves, using a flatiron. In essence, you’re going to create an S shape with each section of hair and use your flat iron to set the shape. The result is a very loose, natural-looking wave. Take a horizontal section of your hair and pinch with your thumb and index finger right at the scalp. Move down the section forming an S-shape, pinching and heating with your straightener as you go. Repeat until you reach the end of the section. Allow your hair to cool before running your fingers through it to separate the waves. The result will be a loose, organic wave with a totally different texture than you would get with a curling iron. Feel free to spritz with our Propolis Infused Texturizing Wave Spray for added longevity. Ways to Curl Hair without Heat Heat tools can give you amazing curls and waves that last, but sometimes you want to give your hair a break from the heat. The good news is, there are countless ways to curl hair without heat. Loose Waves without Heat The easiest way to curl long hair without heat is to braid your hair before bed and sleep on it. One large braid will create loose waves, while two or more smaller braids will create tighter waves. When you wake up in the morning, undo the braid(s) and run a few drops of Honey Infused Hair Oil through your hair for softness and shine, and to tame any frizz. Beach Waves without Heat This technique will work best if your hair already has some texture to it, whether it’s a bit of natural wave or leftover curls from styling your hair the previous day. Start with damp hair and mist it generously with our Propolis Infused Texturizing Wave Spray from mid-shaft down to the ends.  Now scrunch the hair upwards with your hands to form the waves. The result will be an effortless, natural, beachy wave. Heatless Glam Curls with Velcro Rollers If you’re looking for big, voluminous, glamorous curls without heat, go ahead and pull out your large Velcro rollers.  Roll damp sections of hair from the end to the scalp and secure with clips or bobby pins. Leave the rollers in until your hair is completely dry.  Unroll your hair and run your fingers and a few drops of our Honey Infused Hair Oil through to separate the curl. This oil has conditioning properties and naturally seals the cuticle to leave the hair shinier and softer. Negin’s father learned to keep bees from his father, who learnt from his great-grandfather, and so on. It’s always been an ambition of Negin’s to inspire the younger generations to engage in beekeeping and pave the way for new beekeepers to come. The suits serve both the bees and beekeepers by providing a safe place for both parties to interact with one another and protect beekeepers from being stung whilst working with their hives. When designing the Garden Jumpsuit, Negin was inspired by the traditional features of a beekeeper suit. The two-tone Gisou Garden Jumpsuit is made from 100% cotton and features unique design details such as velcro fastening cuffs and neckline, concealed zipper, multi-purpose pockets, elastic waist and detachable legs that guarantee practicality and long lasting comfort while you garden.
