Different ways to style short hair
French Girl Chic styling tips
Let’s start with a classic “French Girl” bob. A French bob is a cropped bob that’s cut at chin-length, paired with bangs sitting at the brow line. This look suits almost every face shape and is perfect for creating effortless textured looks. Here’s how to quickly and easily give your French girl bob a tousled upgrade:
Step 1:
On damp, towel-dried hair, apply 3 to 4 sprays of the Propolis Infused Texturising Wave Spray. Brush it through to distribute it evenly. This product is a lightweight texturising spray that will give you added volume, lift and of course, texture.
Step 2:
Scrunch the product into the hair to create natural waves and give your hair a messy tousled look. Use your fingers to massage a small amount of the product to the root area, lifting the hair for added shape and volume.
Step 3:
Then simply allow it to air dry completely, - voila! A textured, effortless, French girl bob.
Short sleek hair look
This straight-hair look is simple but striking, perfect for anything from a glam night out to an important business meeting. Keep your sleek bob looking smooth and frizz-free by following these steps.
Step 1:
Warm a pea-sized amount of the Propolis Infused Polishing Primer between your hands, running it throughout dry hair. This is what’s going to give your style longevity, like make-up primer, this product will prep your hair before styling, helping to keep your hair looking sleek all day or night.
Step 2:
Apply the Propolis Infused Heat Protecting Spray throughout the hair, brushing this through to ensure it’s evenly distributed and let it dry for a minute or two. This will keep your hair protected up to 230ᵒC/446ᵒF, perfect for straightening as this requires high temperatures.
Then go in with your straightener. This is where you can play around with your style - either opt for a dead straight or flick your ends inwards for a signature “Molly Mae” bob.
Step 3:
After styling, use 1 to 2 drops of the Honey Infused Hair Oil to prevent frizz and tame flyaways and keep your style slick and polished. Not only will this leave your hair looking irresistibly shiny, but it will keep it moisturised too!
How to style a Curly Lob
Curly hair is perfect for a voluminous, bouncy, long bob. The key to this look is hydration and well-defined curls. To achieve this, coily hair will need a little extra love as it can tend to be drier and more fragile than other hair types.
Step 1:
Keep your hair hydrated using our Honey Infused Hair Mask. Apply this throughout your hair, leaving it to absorb for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water and following up with our Honey Infused Conditioner. These products are amazing for coily hair, as they contain super moisturising ingredients like Mirsalehi Honey, coconut oil, argan oil, baobab oil, and hydrolyzed wheat protein.
Step 2:
After your washing routine, on damp hair, apply the Honey Infused Leave-in Conditioner throughout, scrunching the product in to promote your natural curls. This leave-in conditioner is very hydrating, but still lightweight, so it won’t leave your hair feeling weighed down.
Step 3:
Now for the magic! Use the Propolis Infused Polishing Primer to define your coils. This product creates a workable hold, so it won’t leave your hair crunchy or hard, but will still create a frizz-free, well-defined curl. We also love to use this product on second-day curls to revive them and give them a little extra oomph!
“Wet Look” Style Pixie Cut
This look screams high fashion. To the untrained eye, you look like you just stepped out of the shower, but there are actually a couple of steps that go into creating the perfect “wet look” pixie cut.
Step 1:
After showering, towel dry your hair until it is 50% dry. You can then take a generous amount of the Propolis Infused Polishing Primer and smooth it throughout your hair. This product will add texture to the hair, and act like a lightweight, non-crunchy pomade to hold your look in place. You can take a wide-toothed comb to add shape to your look. If you’re going for an edgy, rocker vibe, use your comb to slick your hair back.
Step 2:
Make it shine! Nothing completes a “wet look” like the Honey Infused Hair Oil. Warm 3 to 5 drops of the Honey Infused Hair Oil between your palms and use it to define your strands and add shine.
The Perfect Wolf Cut styling tips
Step 1:
After your washing routine apply the Honey Infused Leave-In Conditioner to give your hair a moisture boost and prevent frizz, and then simply leave the hair to air dry until it is about 60% dry.
Step 2:
Give your fringe some shape by taking a small amount of the Propolis Infused Polishing Primer between your fingers, and twisting your fringe pieces into place, gently running the product through your hair. Massage the remaining amount into your root area to lift the hair and give it some volume.
Step 3:
Wolf cuts are all about texture, whilst your hair is still damp, apply the Propolis Infused Texturising Wave Spray. You can then scrunch this product in to promote texture and give you that messy, rock-chic look.
Styling tips for short hair
Aside from these few different ways to style short hair, here are some tips to keep your hair looking its best! Next to having a good daily haircare routine, here are some of our best styling tips for short hair:
- Keep your hair hydrated: While shorter hair definitely feels healthier, it still needs TLC. Use our Honey Infused Hair Mask once a week to deeply nourish your strands. This will help enhance shine and keep your hair soft and bouncy.
- Less is more: With all of the styling routines above, start out with as little product as possible and build it up. This is because too much product can weigh down shorter strands, causing them to look flat. Build your products up and find a balance that works for you!
- Snip snip: Regular trips to the salon are necessary to keep your short style looking its best. This also helps keep split ends at bay, preventing your hair from looking dull and frizzy.
- Play around with your hair parting: Switch things up with a middle or side part, or even a zig-zag part! Use a wide-tooth comb to create the part of your choice. The easiest way to create a middle or side part is on damp hair. Create your part of choice and then blow-dry using a brush to make sure the part stays put.
- Accessorize: When you’re looking to style very short hair, reach for a headband or clips. We love Y2K butterfly clips for a cute, trendy style! Divide your hair into 1-inch sections starting at your parting, twisting each section and securing them in place using your favourite 90s inspired butterfly clips.
